Why did you call round to see me?
Did you seriously think I wanted to see you?
(Because I did)
Why is it that whenever we meet
I go to jelly? Its not like I have feelings for you
(But I do, I just won't say)
Why do you talk to me in that way?
Like you know my deep and dark secrets, you don't
(But you do, and you know it)
Why do you assume you have power over me?
No one can control me - not even you
(But you can, I just don't like to admit it)
Why is it that I refuse to confess my feelings?
Its not like I'm ashamed of the fact I love you

aboutdesouffle,
I did not think this was a pathetic attempt at all! I really liked it because it was a very true portrayal of our thoughts and words. We may say we don't need someone, but really our thoughts are just the opposite. The true reflections of your thoughts were only shown in the last line of the stanza- which I thought was a great idea. Though we say one thing, in the end the truth comes out. Great poem, I loved it!
