sometimes i'll just be sitting here

Contributed by painted_echos on Thursday, 11th September 2003 @ 11:05:00 PM in AEST
Topic: oops

you know sometimes i’ll just be sitting here,
listening to some tunes, old ones that used to
make me feel good,
then sad,
now, a little mad
but i’m not so mad.
just
feeling two ways at once.
want so much
yet to let go
damn, not easy to do.

so sometimes i’ll just be sitting here,
listening to some tunes, old ones that bring me
in and down,
soul side,
see, i close my eyes
and let the music enter me.
just
feeling two ways at once.
hearing all
hearing none
it’s only lines in time.

and sometimes i’ll just be chillin here,
listening to some tunes, maybe have a beer
life still goes on,
though it’s
different than it was
you happened by and took my heart.
just
feeling two ways at once.
so tired
i can't sleep
oh, the beer thing is new.

and sometimes i’ll just be dancing here,
listening to some tunes, body keeping time
typing to the
music,
wide open i am
i let the words come down through me.
just
feeling two ways at once
drawn to you
pushed from you
between, the words come down.

now

turn it up baby, time to join my dance.
and we all know what that means,
i’ve had another beer.
so
the count may change, but then
that’s the mood.
still in time though,
watcha think.

turn it up baby, kinda want to play.
without any of the rules,
those i know i ignore.
so
only what i feel, dear
mixed with beer.
maybe a toke,
and a smoke.

turn it up baby, you’ll know the old song.
those sailing shoes and julia, were
sneaking down the alley
so
i wrote in their rhythm
just to you.
follow the beat,
now feel it.

turn it up baby, i’ll have one more beer.
no doubt i’m talking to a page
you’re no doubt sure to read
so
no surprise i love you
you love me.
but don’t much want
to, do you.

and

so just now i’m sorta sitting here,
typing to the tune, wishing you were near
old count same time, and
hey julia,
does it bother you
no maybe not, i’ve been off before.
just
feeling two ways at once.
come to me
run from me
shit, don’t know what to do.

for a while, i’ve just been thinking here,
will you let me near enough to love you
is it me you cannot
trust, or
do you shut me out
trying hard to keep you from me from you.
just
feeling two ways at once.
you in me
me in you
and, i do love you.
why won’t you take me into your dark?

hi daydreamer,
and thank you for the compliment. though i guess i wasn't clear with the julia part! i am female, 'sailing shoes', 'hey julia', and 'sneaking sally thru the alley' is a trilogy of songs sung by robert palmer in the 70's. guess that dates me, huh!!! i'm 44, btw. painted_echos
