The Wind in The Cold

A rollicking mist
pugnacious
tumbles over the impenetrable mountains
and hovers around
like suspended bedsheets
blanched but not fluttering with the crinkly washing that assuages
but strained tautly over brackish windows
the belligerence beyond...
The wind is assailant today
swirling grey into heightened senses
view obstructed by straggly hair billowing in the face
a melange of torridity
He stands rigidly on the passing freight train
I will die if it halts
fall apart if it accelerates abruptly and
if it continues....
