Darkness creeps in toward my little corner - Fully curled, my eyes wide open
Silence overtakes my jagged breathing - The blood pounding behind my ears
Searching for the fugitive sleep - Trying to shut my eyes
A soft whisper dances in the air - And I realize that she's here
Slowly I rub my now fragile limbs - Fighting my iron-lock cramps
As I rise up and lift my head - I hear her again, closer still
One by one my feet form steps - My useless right arm sways
My thin frame working relunctantly - Years since it was fit to kill
My destination burned bright as a star - A false promising beacon
I forced myself to struggle faster - The light had took its hold
My breath returned along with her voice - Ears bleeding to interpret
Finally I arrived at my love - I was there, but not bold
Her brilliance scorched my eyes - Now more awake then ever
Her aura was the purest of white - But she herself was the midnight hour
At such a contrast, she was the prettiest sight - Beauty shone, with grief revealed
I had trapped her soul inside of a rose - Forever to be my nightflower
Such a thing was not meant to be - So a barrier I constructed
Seven years it had set so firm - Never a thought to move the glass
But her sweet words I could not understand - My dry fingers caressed the structure
Up it came, smooth as silk - And her essence flowed out through the path
Our entire life came screaming back - I howled a sound I never had made
She plunged deeper with her spiritual spear - As I had done to her those past days
Something was wrong, something was different - Everything was of gloom
I watched it all from her perspective - Her view of life fading to grey
My body gave out that very moment - My mind couldn't grasp what it saw
The life that I thought so perfect - The same one she despised
There was no love, not for a second - I learned that freezing night
And everything I had sacrificed - Went with my soul as it rised

hey baby. this is the best poem I have ever read. it is so unlike you to share you innermost thoughts and feelings, and you need to do it more often, this poem made me cry. It is so beautiful, it seems, as though i am left speechless, but my thoughts run like a river, with the current screaming for you to hold me. once again, this is the best poem I have ever read. I love you baby... |
