to go far enough…to go where it's just you…
first go within
searching beyond, will bring you to the ends of the earth in vain
leave you to question where you are, doubt where you’ve been
leave you empty and floundering in a carrion wind
you know its chill
blowing cold through your soul
there is no, ‘just you’
till you know who you are
the walls you built to keep the world away, have kept you away
from the world
layers of numb to seal off your heart, haven’t protected you
sorrow seeps through, melancholy compels you to run
searching for answers at the end of the earth
that elude you
so much of yourself, you’ve buried
where you fear to go
and alone became lonely
go within, past the fear, no surprises, you know what’s there
open to all that is you
cry if you have too, scream if it helps, but let yourself feel
let the walls you built crumble, you could turn them to dust
open your soul
feel connected, belonging to all, owned by none
and go to the ends of the earth
just to go
