in coma

Contributed by Cancer on Tuesday, 9th September 2003 @ 04:05:00 AM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

the tears fall
but they mean so little
they don't express the true sorrow
just fall, and pool on the bed

years spent
living off my own tears
devouring the misery that i bleed
years pass by, shrouded in Coma

never wake
never stir, nor feel the touch of love
beyond all feeling, numb from slow self-destruction
never wake to find you waiting

how long
how long can this possibly go on
i'm not alive, but death denies me
how long before they pull the plug

in unknown depths
i have known all, i have seen all
no universal secret has eluded my eye
in unknown depths i have become a sleeping god

forever in limbo
incapable of all, save for endless thought
traveling to the nether walls of existence
forever searching for escape

i feel a change
they've pulled the plug, artificial respiration ceases
and in my head, i suffocate, but do not die
every thought and memory, tainted
by the torture of eternal suffocation

my funeral
inside i scream silently, no air to carry my wail
begging the unseen gods for mercy
trying to assure myself that this can't be real
my funeral marks no end

years in grave
i still suffocate, my mind a victim
to the most morbid degeneration
in grave, i suffer still

searching
for the light at the end of the tunnel
finding only deeper pits of darkness
more vicious blots of Void
searching for escape

begging
their god for hell
yearning to feel, to feel even the sting of eternal flame
but, still i remain inside myself, isolated from all hope

begging
begging for an end

Excellent poem, so cold and freaky, just reading it made me take a deep breath just to make sure I'm alive.
You have such an errie way with words the way you draw the reader in, the way make your poems flow.
you are bloody good at this sort of poetry.
Keep it up.

wow amazing as always. More calm than usual I found, but still amazing. You seem to write lots of stuff about dying, but your mind still being alive. Where did u get that idea? PM me if u have the time and tell me.

Excellent expression of suffering ... the first part of this reminds me so much of how I have felt for years ... hopefully death is a release and not an eternity of the same on-going feelings ... your words chill, but I enjoy reading the intriguing ideas you come up with ... Jan
