I'd sit with you out on the porch
and you'd look at me with those eyes
we'd play from dusk till dawn
until the stars arise
I'd tell you all my secrets
my deepest darkest feelings
you'd sit there listening
eating the left over peelings
to me you are my best friend
you listen to my poetry
you don't lie to me or contend
talking to you is so easy
you may just be a pet to others
but to me you are far more
Sox your my only dog
my only friend I adore

Oh your poem touched my heart
Didn't leave any space for your words to part!
I had an old dog named Tag.....
I adored him too. He was like your Sox...always listened, and with big black eyes understood! I think he saved my life....at a time when I needed a friend.
I'll never forget that dog he was like your Sox... a friend that will never end!
I was touched by your poem....what a wonderful, touching write

| i have been working with animals for a long time now and i want to tell you that this poem sums up the exact reason why i do it. there is so much intelligence and love behind a pair of large brown eyes that no one really understands until they have had the chance to spend time with an animal like your Sox. Beautiful poem... i loved it! |

Dogs are awesome. The best listeners, they never judge you...and they're always there to lick away your tears... My siberian husky means this to me...so I can relate...
