THIS EMPEROR KNOWS NO TRUTH

Contributed by Steeleyes on Monday, 8th September 2003 @ 08:25:00 PM in AEST
Topic: Patriotic

Remember the legend
Of the emperor who has no clothes?
I’m sure that’s one that everyone knows

O/

There was once an Emperor who wanted a magnificent new suit for a parade through his capital city. The suit was to be made by the royal tailor and had to be the best and most magnificent ever sewn. This put the tailor under tremendous stress. If the suit was not the best ever seen the tailor would get the blame. The tailor knew that no matter how fine the garment, someone would be bound to criticize it. What should he do? After thinking long and hard he came up with a plan.

He decided to make no suit at all. Nothing. But he would tell everyone that the suit, invisible to all, was the most magnificent suit ever sewn containing all the finest linens, silk, and jewels befitting an emperor. The suit, truly, was magnificent. There was only one thing to be made totally clear. Only the very best most patriotic people could actually see the suit. The unworthy and unpatriotic would see nothing. Since no member of the Emperor’s entourage wanted to appear unworthy, the tailor felt sure they would say nothing and he was right.

On the day of the parade, the emperor walked regally down the middle of main street. All his subjects scraped and fawned saying 'What a magnificent suit!' 'Truly a suit worthy of an emperor...' Not a single soul risked seeming unworthy or unpatriotic by expressing the naked truth in front of them.

But, as the emperor passed one small child she pointed to the Emperor and yelled out loudly, “The emperor's wearing no clothes!” The illusion of the magnificent suit instantly evaporated as the people began to realise they were now free to speak the truth, that the emperor was walking not in a magnificent garment but in his birthday suit. Only a small child, unencumbered by bias or a fear of the power of the emperor, had been capable of telling this obvious and naked, truth.

O/

Well our new emperor
Is a case in point of this plight
No matter what the truth of Iraq
He’ll just keep on saying he was right

And all his pals and sycophants
Will keep nodding their heads
“Oh yes, you were oh so right
Yes! Yes!! So right! So right!”

But no matter how many times you say it
When you’re Wrong you're Wrong
But saying THAT just can’t be
That’s a real political swan song

So of course
Even if he’s Wrong he’s Right!
‘Cause War is Peace
And Lies are Truth
And brightest Day is Night

And we all walk on
Under this idiot son
With all his ugly cupidity
To yet more utter lunacy
And crass brain-free stupidity

In the legend
A young child points out
The imposter has no clothes
But with our deceiver Bush
There’s no need to be a sleuth
It is as clear as the light of day
That this emperor knows no truth

Yeeeeee HHHHA,
this Arkansas gal sas u go now!
Very creative, powerfull truth.
George Bush lost my favor a judge order them idiots to pay our prisoner of war that were tortured. When Bush spoke up and said no we gonna use that to rebuild irac.
Now my thinking is that if he can't even support our troops against the evil over there then he needs to go find a frady hole with the rest of the imbacils and rebuild Irac. Don't misunderstand me, I believe in helping others but they got enuff money from their oil wells that they must have bought Bush. BA HUbuuuug, I'm getting out of here '
cause I'm getting ralled up.
Good work,
emy
