MY HOMOPHONE FAMILY

Contributed by lovingcritters on Monday, 8th September 2003 @ 04:25:00 PM in AEST
Topic: dedicatedpoems

I love my family, and yet,
They are all weird,
but where families are involved.....
You got to accept what you get!!!

My "Aunt " Alice screams......
if a small "ant "comes "close!"
She's so scared, she jumps right out of her "clothes!"
Running naked across the park.
She lets out a "moan"......
Slides on the grass with both of her feet,
and then it is "mown!"

Uncle Cass is a "Colonel"
He pops his corn leaving n'er a "kernel"
Once bit by a "flea", jumped up to "flee"
And ran straight up a Walnut tree!

Cousin Ruby runs a sheep ranch.
She has many "ewes",
of many "hues", for "you's" to see?
She also has a "Yews" tree for shade.
Under it her "ewes' of many "hues" laid!

Another Aunt Jewel
Loves to do "Crewel"
She is also very "Cruel,"as Boss of her house,
She makes her poor husband eat gruel!(He's a henpecked fool!)

My Great Grandma Lou
"Creaks" as she walks.
She's afraid of the pool,
so in the "creeks", she washes her lox.
She says that if her "creaks" ever "cease"
She'll wash her lox in the "seas!"

Uncle Harry "chews"...you know.....
His wife ,my Aunt Minnie says,
"You better "choose!!!"
"Either you give up that spittin', or out you go!"

Their son Morris lives in "Champaign" (Illinois my old home!)
He's a drunk and lives off wine, called "Campagne"
His wife drinks like a fish.
But I can't recall her name????

Now this one relative stands out in my mind!
She has boobs that are "false"
And many more "faults!"
She's always out of "thyme", when she cooks!
But has plenty of "time" to write a rhyme!
Her poor dog has "dents" in his "tail!"
The "tale" that she tells is,
He fell over his crooked "tail"
and into the "dense" well he fell! (poor thing!)

I'd better not forget my Brother.
He looks like a dog, a Great "Dane"
My what shame!
As all the girls to him "deign!" ( have no idea?)

And since I'm part of this weird family,
I can't stand the dark!
Give me the "rays" of the light.
Before the "raise" of my hair becomes quite a sight! (Wheee that was close!)

My sister Fanny, one of many funny "Jesters"
Her hands are full of "gestures"
Up and "down" and all around!
Sometimes she loses them in Grandma's
goose feather "down" (I just made this one up!

On this last relative,
you must really concentrate!
She knew she was "dying", so she began "dyeing" her hair!
She "damned" her fate!
While she slammed her head against the "dammed" dam!
She soon would "concur"
the flood would "conquer" her!
So before she "dyed" her hair.....
She "died!" (drowned I think?}

Now you know....to "Write"
about your Homo family, is not "right!
So I'll probably get a "disease", and "decease"
I know that doesn't look or sound "right?"
But, I got these from Webster,
the man that collects dictionaries galore!
Please don't faint to your floor....
I've now run out of those homphones....
Just show me the door!

Created by
Cheri Cam LeBren
Thanks Jenni
That was alot of fun!
Got to run...I just heard
my family is going to come!
See you all next year!
September 2004!
Whenever they show up
I go out the back door!
TEEHEE!

Dear lovingcritters, I enjoyed reading this one so much. I don't think I'd have the courage to write one about my family. I'm new to your poetry, but I'll visit you frequently now. Bizzy
