Hide It

Contributed by Angel12881 on Wednesday, 14th August 2002 @ 05:42:40 PM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

Why bother to understand this life,
why bother to try and change it?
You'll always be who you are,
so why try to hide it?
You hide behind your perfect hair,
your pretty little outfits.
But inside, you are crying,
screaming to be heard.
You laugh and smile,
giggle and flirt,
but why?
Inside you are suffering,
your tortured soul is sobbing.
You want to be who you were,
before you tried to change it.
You can't go back,
what's done is done,
all you can do is accept it,
and try to change your future.
Get away from the fakeness,
go back to who you were.
You don't know if you can,
you're too scared to try.
You're not sure you remember
who you were before.
You've blocked it out for so long,
it's faded into the past.
You've got to pull it out and dust if off,
reclaim your individuality from the conformed society
commonly known as high school.
It's still there,
it never left,
all you did was hide it.
