Neurasthenia (any chain you hold me down with)

Contributed by broken-glass on Saturday, 6th September 2003 @ 02:35:00 PM in AEST
Topic: oops

Any chain you hold me down with,
I can break.
Any smile you use on me,
I know is always fake.
You think you're wonderful,
you're just vain.
You think you're trod upon,
you've felt no pain.
You think you're surprising,
you send me to sleep.
You think you're mysterious,
you're not that deep.
You think you're unheard of,
I've heard it all before.
You're a meer disease in my mind,
don't tread on me I'm not that blind.
You think you're clever,
you might be right,
but how do you still sleep at night
when greed and envy run in your veins,
not a single blood cell still remains.
Any chain you hold me down with,
I will always break.
I can move any stones you put in front of me,
I can take all the pain you can take.
You're not as great as you think you are.

I think this is a great poem. I always feel that way with certain people and I just don't really know how to tell them to lay off cause I don't like to hurt people's feelings unless i actually have to if you know what I mean. Great write i love it
