Step One is Admitting You Have A Problem

I walk outside
It’s 8 PM
Weak days in oblivion
Call out your name to empty streets
No response, return to the sheets
Perfect vision sees no colors
Ears hear unheard melodies not new
For what worth are words and colors
If they heard and seen without you?
Hide and seek, I won’t peek
I’ll close my eyes and count til’ ten
Open them up just to see
I’ve let you run away again
Because everytime I try to make you feel
You just back away for a while
But I can’t help but feel this way
Cause ignorance is my style
I can ignore every slur
That races past my ears
But if an insult tiptoes through your lips
An army couldn’t hold back these tears
Admit it, you love me madly,
Frankly, you give a damn,
No wait, that’s impossible
Even I hate who I am
Dream away sick twisted mind
Dream away my unwell brain
Fall to sleep and see what you find
See if you feel no pain
Insane? I think not
Is love a mental defect?
Or is it just a crime?
Am I its main suspect?
Who knows what it really is
Not I to start
I don’t want to feed all these stupid lines
When none of them come from my heart
I don’t love you more than anything
I don’t breathe for you alone
My every cell does not melt for you
Just maybe to the bone
So here’s the truth to be told
I still wish we could be
Even though we never will
I’ll still wait for thee
I’m not scared to say it now
Though I was for quite sometime
For I can finally admit
I am guilty of love’s crime
