Chimera

Contributed by avarice_riot on Friday, 5th September 2003 @ 08:05:00 AM in AEST
Topic: Grief

Under a sky of glittering ashes
Do I seek to retrieve you?
Rapidly degenerating, immersed
As I breathe in this whirlpool
of hollow desire, a patchwork quilt
of blue, red and the bottomless
strokes of black.
Seething as I brush against the underside
Do I hunt the impossible?
Merely a pipedream away yet too remote to reach
Merely a vision of my imagining.
Icy shards of my essence
Breathe life into each of your fears
Do I hear you calling me from below
In hopes of ever redeeming salvation?
I choose to amble along, hand in hand with my inner beasts
Treading a path of heinous unknowns
just to catch a transient glimpse of you.
This is my aria, this is my prayer for one departed
This is my solitary kamikaze, an inessential sacrifice
For I cannot and never will be able
to let go of my reminiscence
of you.

Does this poem have something to do with the person "Adair" is dedicated to?
