LAX Flight 234

Contributed by Merry on Friday, 5th September 2003 @ 02:05:00 AM in AEST
Topic: LovePoetry

Willful wind in the parking lot
Stole my candy wrapper
With it’s scratchy lemon scented hand
Welcome to Los Angeles
Said a voice from out of nowhere
The cacophony of engines roar
Makes my head spin and eyes blur
Melted candy in my pocket
Feels inexplicably sensual
Running down my leg in secret
I try to look nonchalant about it
Palm trees look ridiculous
Not at all like trees are supposed to look
You approach me in a haze of smog
Just the way I always imagine you
When you are stuck in the city
Dirty hair and paint on your hands
A barefoot saint in a dirty halo
I was hoping for a kiss or something
Actually more of the something
But I don’t suppose we can do that here
You greet me with a lazy hug
Take my suitcase like a gentleman
I know that you love your mother
People still don’t know who you are
I feel like I have a wonderful secret
Willful wind blows my hair
Across my eyes and you disappear
It was just another daydream after all

I smelled the smog. This has inspired me to write something now. Thanks!
