Darkest Of Night...

Contributed by LovingWhispers on Wednesday, 3rd September 2003 @ 02:35:00 AM in AEST
Topic: SadPoetry

It used to be I existed, held only by loneliness
My closest friend was a shadow of emptiness
I walked the streets with solitude by my side
And only the wind dried all the tears I cried

Only in the darkness,in dreams did you show
Then in the morning light,I had to watch you go
Day after day, night followed night,I wept
All I had were fantasies, created while I slept

Always wishing for a love,a home where I could lay
Someone to give my every breath, how I hoped and prayed each day

I wandered aimlessly in circles,
Aways falling back amongst old friends
It seemed emptines,loneliness and solitude
Would be mine until the end

Then one night amid my dreams
I found nothing,you were gone
I searched every place I'd been with you
I felt lost and more alone

I didnt want the sun to find me
Nor did I have a need to stay asleep
I had nowhere left to turn to
Even my dreams I couldn't keep

Yet time moves on and I awoke
Another battle through the tears
All I could do was wait for night
And hope it took me far from here

*to be continued* :)
