Thieves

Contributed by crow on Tuesday, 2nd September 2003 @ 01:25:00 PM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

Thieves, they steal the innocent from us,
take our babies lives away.

So many hurt. From many years old, to the fragile blossom of life.

We will never know the count, most stay
hidden, hoping the assurance of more
will not come.

Thieves, shatter lives
with one unforgiveble act.

I am afraid of the world,
aren`t we supposed to evolve?
this is not human to me.

Theives, we lock them away,
but look what they do to the ones we love.

I hear cries from the heart,
years from the damage done!

We can only pray for the future,
not knowing what tomorrow will bring.

Still we hope as another day
comes to end..................Crow

A young girl trembles and hides her face from the world, battered by the hands that vowed to protect her.

No one should ever be afraid of their own,
cowering in the dark, or under the bed.

One child lost, or stolen is to much.

I spent many hours working(labour of love) with women and children of domestic violence.Women and innocent, helpless babes had their candles snuffed because of the horrors..and not just beatings.Yes..it's all too common.Sometimes all I could do was sit and cry for hours on end, wanting to take in every child everywhere. As always...you amaze and touch me.~*:*~Bless You~*:*~
