This is The End of Me

Contributed by norm on Tuesday, 2nd September 2003 @ 06:45:00 AM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

There comes a time when I must be
a sponge requesting sympathy,
My life has turned from pink to black
And all I feel is thorough lack.

Lack of all that makes life grand,
Love and recognition and
The will to thrive, the will to give
In fact the very will to live.

It happened there at Lake Tahoe
Whereat my love told me to go,
There is no other girl for me,
Now our love can never be.

Why live on, my life should close,
I can't recover as she goes,
Love's sweet thrill is gone for e'er,
And so I end my love affair.

I wish to join the 'Ender's Club'
I can't recover from this snub,
Why should I live on... for what?
It's time for me to end my lot...

As long as you are breathing
And people you are pleasing
It's not the end, no it's not
So don't end it on the spot.

Sympathy you have, I am one
Both of us can have lots of fun
Come on in we'll drink some beers
We'll share some laughs and share some tears.

And you'll see more will join
No need to bribe them with a coin
Nope it's not it's not the end
And be sure you've got a friend.

this was a great write, the rigid rhyme scheme seems to reflect the way you feel trapped and stuck in your unhappiness..i hope things get better for you, keep on writing, 'the end' will soon clear and you'll see another reason for living. xxx

The loss of a love is not worth the strife
Forget that one and begin new life
For any who does not see the worth of you
Should just be dumped in a pile of poo poo

Of course as we all know the only girl
For you is your long time true love shirl
So happy you will always be with your pearl
And be giving life the wonderful whirl

Shari

My dear friend Norm
If you were having an affair...no sympathy from me you'll render...
You've been a very bad boy, and I'm glad she will end 'er!
Poor Shirl sits at home all alone, while you're out there acting like your heir!
I hope this will teach you a fine lesson or two.
And I hope that Shirl will have an affair too!
That will really teach you, little boy blue.
That what's good for the Gander is good for the Goose too!
You should be ashamed of yourself.
