October Skies

October Skies

In October skies, the leaves fly,
The black clouds move in.
You can feel the change,
In the coolness of the wind.

The grass browns, the flowers die,
The colors change to brown.
And outside my window,
You hear a howling type of sound.

The pools close, the grills gone,
The patio furniture stored away.
But the aching in my heart,
Longs for another summer day.

Jeff I loved your poem...I live in Wyoming and your October skies are here already. You can feel the snow, and like you said...hear it outside your window. My bones give it all away....It's winter it's here to stay!
What well written poem Jeff...very organized, and written well!
Enjoyed it too!
