Life shrouded in secrecy
Tears permanently running down my face
Surrounded in darkness, with no way out
How I wish for better days
How I remember sleeping to my mother’s song
Safe and protected, not a care in the world
I have been hidden from her for so long
She used to be so proud of her baby girl
What happened to my mother
And her loving tender ways?
I can still feel her brushing my bangs from my face
How I long to sleep peacefully once more in her embrace
Hiding in my dark corner, my tears slow and a small smile shows
Visiting my memories of peace so long ago
For a little while I can drift to peaceful sleep
Visiting the memories of when my mother loved me.
