Something my daughter taught me

She is unique with an open mind
That learns not too slow or too fast but just right
Revelations come in their own good time
She trusts in herself to see the light

When the struggle has been long
She’ll stop, start, stop, restart, and go on
Not knowing she’s close to the questions answer
Learning bit by bit from what experience hands her.

And when she finally gets it, oh the luminous bliss
The spark in her eyes, the strength in her smile
Self-belief grows in moments like this
Her labour has been worthwhile

So what has she taught me?

That we are unique with open minds
We learn not too slow or too fast but just right
Revelations come in their own good time
Trust in yourself to see the light

Oh How Wonderful! I loved your poem. I had two daughters and when they were young, just like you they taught me more than I could ever teach them. I can tell you are a very good mother.
Save that poem for your daughter....it will thrill her to think you wrote that for her!
