The Horizon Burns

Wild fires of crimson
Blaze on through the night
Scold my heart for loving
A bird bound to flight,
My own anger jabs silly
Thorns in my heart,
Anchors to him
And tears me apart.
Wild fires of amber
Calm an aching soul
Tired of losing
The full universe whole.
Then lazy day blues
Too calm to walk
Only with you,
Do I wish to talk.
Wild eyes. Wild fingers
Long for your touch
In my clasp, patient grasp
I’ve wanted, so much.
Burning across horizons,
The wild fires of mine,
Tearing in destruction,
Fueled by lost time.
