A crystal rose
Sits in a vase
Gently reflecting specks of light
A small prism of light
Showering specks of red, blue, and green
Upon the world
Grown with loving care
Not made from glass or plastic
The fragile crystal rose
Silently waits
To see the world
Outside its vase
Rarely seen
Nonexistant, perhaps
Or unknown of,
It waits for a person
To let it see
The grass, the trees, the flowers
And most of all,
Taste what it has never tasted
The taste of pure water
When it is finally discovered
By a young woman
She takes it out
To live its dream
Of a life it never lived
And when it got its final wish
To taste pure water
It slowly faded away
Petal by petal,
Bit by bit,
Gone yet never forgotten
It sits within the vase of life
Finally having lived the life
It never lived
