Sentiment Junkie

Contributed by crimson_purity on Sunday, 24th August 2003 @ 08:45:00 AM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

The clock ticks, seconds of my life dwindle away,
(One by one)
Abstinence, the only tool to break the cycles,
(One by one)
Much time has passed since that day,
When the sweat beads fell from my brow,
The furnace of my mind,
Searching for another hit, love,
Wrapped in a brown paper bag,
Swearing to myself once again,
This is the final, the last time, the last,
No more,
Please God, just one more fantasy of affection,
The knot in my stomach twists,
The pleasure lingers, between my veins,
There it lies, just another sentiment junkie,
One person defined simply by their lost memories,
No more than that,
Beyond a forced smile,
They rape me,
One by one.

Awesome poem, liked the way you made it sound like life is a timebomb, ticking away to nothing but lost dreams.
Excellent keep it up.

Must be hard. Self control is always hard, but don't give up. By the way struggling poetry is better than apathetic (giving up) poetry any day even if it is perfect. Thank you for sharing your heart.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
