. EVERY NIGHT I WISH UPON A STAR
EVERY NIGHT I PRAY TO THE GOOD LORD
EVERY NIGHT I THINK JUST ONE LAST HAPPY THOUGHT
EVERY NIGHT I GET LOST IN A DREAM OF YOU AND ME
A DREAM OF THE LIFETIMES OF DELIGHT THAT WILL COME TO BE
BUT NOT QUITE HERE
EVERY NIGHT I STARE AT YOUR SMILING FACE AND WOUNDER
IF I’M SEEING YOU OR JUST A FAKE
BUT
NOT EVERY NIGHT IS THE SKY SO CLEAR OR THE MOON SO BRIGHT
OR OUR FUTURE SO KNOWINGLY LOCKED UP IN YOUR SPIRIT AS FREE AS THE AIR.
