Passion's Inferno

A single ember smoulders in the once dormant ashes
As it teases me with its warmth,
it's glowing aura brightens.
The warmth intensifies and the single ember burns
ignited by your spark.
The flames of desire are awakened.
Like a moth, I am drawn to it,
to its tempting, tantalising incandescence.
I move closer and the flicker becomes a blaze.
This uncontrollable yearning keeps drawing me nearer,
even as the temperature rises.
Hypnotized by the rhythm of the flames...
I am captured by the inferno.
My back arches towards the white hot heat,
as the flames lick my skin in a heated caress.
Flushed crimson as the fire spreads,
raging out of control,
smothering me in a wave of passion.
The crescendo is reached with intense fervor
as the fire reaches its climax.
I grasp and gasp as I swelter with this blistering fever
my head thrown back by the ferocity of the backdraft...
your kiss still burning on my lips
your touch still sultry on my skin
your warmth still filling my soul...
I am consumed.
I lay there with the fire now under control,
gazing at the flicker that remains in your eyes.
I close my eyes to sleep in the aftermath
of passion's inferno
