Fish dish

Contributed by vincy on Thursday, 21st August 2003 @ 02:05:00 PM in AEST
Topic: oops

Sort of an offering
to say the least
dead fish washing ashore
the day after the ocean soared
the mighty waves roared
as the winds broke out of line
blowing grains of sand like missiles
into thin air, into my eyes, into your hair.
This planet must have seen times like this
eons ago, before the floods arrived
but who is around to vouch for it.
We must eat fish served in a dish
as the main dish and I wish
you washed your hands first
of the blood you shed,
or else you will surely humm
out of your well seasoned culture
and stink big time scum
like an oil soaked vulture.
This course is for you and me,
for we are us, collectively yet alone
although we can gather together
we have to leave here one by one
but since the gods are offering the goods
marinated in thick black oil
wrapped in man scorched soil
we'd better eat this food real good
less we want to go starving.
Something fishy is going on
under our noses, to say the least,
this ghastly, abominable feast
must be the play of the beast
( sixhundred and sixtysix )
who is squeezing the Earth's juices
with an iron fist.
We should stick together
before we all fall apart
so let us be a part
of each other
and take this
to be an offering
not a warning.

what a super write
-------------------------------
If the fish are fresh
and untainted flesh
why wait for a mounty
to grab the bounty...

Great write....really, loved the way you presented this poem. Very thought provoking too!
I love fish just like you.
Bring it on whether its fried or stew.
So much waste in our day,
Feed the hungry....bet they won't turn it away.
Enjoyed this poem
