Heavenly information

I hadn't prayed for quite some time
and really felt estranged
I "keyed" the same old number
but everything had changed
An anticeptic angel voice
announced a range of choices
according to my problem
there were different answering "Voices"
To offer a standard prayer press 1
Confession of sins, press 2
Requests for help, press 3 or 4
for somebody else?....or you?
This went on for quite some time.
At last I made my bid.........
For general information
press 22...........I did!
"Informationhowcanwehelp"
an angel voice enquires
"Could you tell me a bit about heaven?"
"What it's like when one expires?"
Well first off, you don't have a body
just thought (your origional form),
you cease to have any substance.
That's the "extracosmosical" norm
"But how will I meet with others?"
Telepathic imagination.
"And that goes on forever?"
There's no such designation.........
.......pure thought does not have sequence
no "beginning" and no "end"
outside the cosmos there's no time,
let me explain, my friend........
....surely you're familiar
with getting 'lost in thought'
it's only when you 'wake up'
you see what time has wrought.
"I don't think my imagination
will stretch that far somehow!"
I shouldn't let it bother you.
You're doing fine right now.

Great poem. The last two lines are exactly how i think about it.
--------------------------------------
Who knows what Heaven holds for us
The question of it is answered by fuss
Everyone his own opinion
President, employee or even minion
Best to do is just live for the present
Be happy and love and have money spent
While not having any questions compiled
Still could you give me this number you dialed? |

It's not really "dial" more "appealing"
a standard proceedural thing
You know hands together and kneeling
Some sects simply stand up and sing
I agree..... we should not abuse it
Life is just here for the fun
If you've got a cosmos then use it
get a body and enjoy the sun |

Wrybod this is a great poem. It begs us to question what life is there after life for us. It feels to me that we should embrace today for we know not what tommorrow will bring, yet we should also prepare for tommorrow for we know not what it may bring! Excellent use of words, creates an extraordinary image...fabulous write, well enjoyed! Krystal:) |

Thank you for your extaordinarlly encouraging compliment. If you would be kind enogh to read the couple of verses which form my reply to PoloRM above, you will see we all have much in common.
I think the chuches need a shake up to bring their texts into the 21st Centuary. Did you read my other one "I'm giving up on Gods" and the very first one I wrote for YPDC "Praying can't change the rules."? |

Hi Wrybod,
I like the way you wrote this as if it were
just another impersonal operator assisted
conversation on the phone.I wonder about
all of the religions out there that make their
followers believe that they must work so hard
for the church in this life in order to be
rewarded with a ticket to the so called
"better place".
Your friend,
POOBEAR

The fact that that the cosmos was created cannot be denied. Something, some force or will produced it and that was "The origionating force" Don't give it a name for the moment.
The whole thing is governed by a set of rules and can only exist because these rules are constant and do not change. The more we discover about these rules the better our chances of survival. All the praying in the world will not change those rules.
Knowing this the "Prophets" had to find some way of conning groups of people to work together in communities and abide by the law. They needed complete authority which they got by creating Gods . Each claimed that theirs was the one true god and the rest is history.

If I could speak to folks in heaven,
I would like to know,
What the hell they're doing and
Why are they so slow.
Someone has to fix the way
the world's so badly run
If not the folks in heaven then
Why was the world begun? |

Wrybod, I know that some people try to paint and sculpture their subconscious. I think you're doing a fine job of putting yours into words. I like how you compared heaven's timeline to being lost in though, I've never thought of it that way. Myself, I think heaven's more interactive than you make it sound. People exist to have relationships; to be touched and experience friendship. That can't all end when we die, can it? |

You are a talented, prolific writer. This one sure pulled comments from your readers!
I have chosen randomly to read many of your poems. I still don't find the one about faith that you referred to in your comment on my Good Will To All Mankind.
If 'faith' was your big concern about your concept of my poem, I shouldn't think we are that far apart in our thinking. Which title is it?
