As They Will Self-Destruct

Contributed by Katie-Kate on Wednesday, 20th August 2003 @ 02:05:00 PM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

Stupid ignorant people,
Who think that they know best
But with all they refuse to see,
I'll put their 'knowledge' to the test.

They know that they've got power
They think that;s all they need
But they're digging their own grave
With their yearn for status - a greed.

They're on a ***** power trip
As they try to stare you down
But your morbid sense of humour cracks
Her messed up face resenbles a clown.

How can you take them seriousely
When you know just what they fear
They're scared of themselves - the truth
That's why thier reflection is a smear.

They're caged by their own safety net
Where they can't see dark for the light
They refuse to see what's wrong with them
But it's a lost battle they fight.

For ignorance will consume them
When the truth takes hold
To continue to look away
It's their own soul they've sold.

To make up for their suffering
They attack you when you're weak
And stir up all your hatered
Till you're so angry, you can't speak.

It's then that they will realise
What it is that they deserve
For you'll show no mercy
Toward the creatures of this earth.

What reasons have they given you
How is it that they've shown
That they deserve your compassion?
It's their last chance - they've blown.

Their suffering is self-inflicted
As they will self-destruct
Humanity is its own enemy
In retrospect - this race is *****.

This is very true, in the end it will be the greedy power hungry fools that ´rule´ the world who eventually destroy it.
Well done with this one,
Emily

Humanity being it's own enemy, a really nice poetic paradox,. This poem stirs a lot of things within me, I think most of the human race knows that someday they shall cause their own demise, the fact that most don't care is the real tragedy.
