Real or not
she's drowning
way too far away from shore,
she's grown weary and bone tired
of being everyone's perfect w****.
Real or not
she's lost half the battle,
one she cannot win,
she's fed up and broken
from paying for others'
greedy sins.
Real or not
she functions so very little every day,
she feels she hasn't very much longer
here to stay.
Real or not
she's fearful of even the fear itself,
she's even forgotten
to shut herself down
before falling into hell.
Real or not
she's desperate and hasn't any clues,
daily grasping,
not even knowing what to do.
Real or not
her joy was lost so very long ago,
even if she found some
she would not even know.
Real or not
her fears protect her from tasks
she cannot do,
constantly struggling
to hide all her truths.
Real or not
she is falling
losing sight of solid ground.
She's not really hiding
nor is she looking to be found.
Real or not
the pain exists
to somehow torment her every single day,
she could easily go back
to being just a lay.
Real or not
the truth laid bare, a crack in the core,
her value lost
all damaged goods fallen to the floor.
Real or not
she has no way
to send the message through
no way to show anyone
all that's left is battered
and darkly bruised.
Real or not
she pleads with fate to guide her
in the night
and silently begs you not to lose her
from your sight.
Real or not
she has no way
to ask for things on her own,
love her always
leave her not
swear this.....
upon all that needs to be shown.

This was great... the layout was cool. I loved the real or not, the repettitiveness of it drove over in my head like an anxiety attack, which complemented the poem well. So true about the scars in your head tho... sometimes we are our own enemy. |
