Purged Destiny

|
See the darkened angel,
her wings singed from all the hate.
She flies above a hollow earth,
cursing her unknown fate.
Watch the delicate creature
soar above the storm,
dodge the rolling thunder,
pleas on the wind from her are torn.
Hear her cry out all the questions
finding no answers there.
A soulful voice of pleading,
a legend too frightening to share.
Listen, oh so carefully,
to count the many tears,
she's drowning in the darkened sorrow
of all the remembered years.
