Born to the spirit the Ancients might send from the trail of tears, so telling the journey
the enemy cries.
This one gathers all nations in heart and spirit, prays the wisdom of long ago dreams.
Mother Earth cries for her children that
have died for her rape.
Misted mountains of the north the darkest
emerald green, all nations shed tears
to moisten her lips.
Indian Heart the nature you hold,
born of the song, a long ago wind.
Indian Heart what form you might take,
a beautiful child, to dry her eyes...... Crow
[so cruel the journey; the settlers that lined the trail of tears, weeped for their enemy.]

Dear Crow,
What a marvelous way of expressing the horrible horrific suffering of these dear people. I loved it all the way through, Crow. Was so true.....and the word weeped....is used many times by poets, crow....you can even make up your own words if you like. So never apologize for using a word you can't find in the dictionary.....they weren't poets but we are! *smiles*

this is unique and beautiful - I have very strong tribal ties- I am part Indian - my great great grandmother used to tell us stories when we were very little - she died when I was 6 - so my memory of those stories is very faded by time and the history is lost. But your beautiful poem brought back a flood of rich feelings.
