Darkness

Contributed by hazelnut on Wednesday, 13th August 2003 @ 09:05:00 AM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

The comforting darkness flows
like warm liquid
Shields from piercing glows
Darkness envelops like fluid
Hidden behind a veil of tears
Silence was my companion
During nights like these throughout the years
I lose myself in black oblivion
Darkness was my sanctuary, sublime
When I didn't have to face the world that taunted
When dark fantasies danced in my mind
Where no cruel laughter haunted

But why do the tears continue to fall?
Is there hope for a better tomorrow at all?

Dawn breaks...
A ray of weak sunlight from the east
I dried my eyes
A flicker of hope (waiting to be extinguished?)

Good job, great write.

There's always a new Dawn
Towards which we're all drawn
And when you know this is your last fall
Fake hopes better than no hopes at all.
