in the Garden
where Nothing grows
i pick a solitary rose
whose austere look
and blunted thorns
remind me of the loss it mourns
for, it's growth in this patch of desolation
is a testament to the obliteration
of this Garden, once thick with bloom
now Grey and Decayed like a patchwork tomb
Darkness holds sway, heavy like the Hand of Doom
her, in the Shadow of Nothing, where Death often looms
Burnt by silent enemies
my Garden turned to ruin
as i lay, imprisoned in an Asylum of Soul's
howling madly at the bleeding moon
and i returned
to find my sanctuary burned
it's beauty flame-raped to ash
my tears rode a downward spiral
to the newly sterile earth
and my mind, swollen with Demon Seed's
burnt out as it gave birth
(and Madness was my safe place
the thought of those Bastards
burning like my Garden
was my warm place to hide)
and as my mind spun out of control
i hunted every god-fearing torch bearer down
i bludgeoned each with a crucifix
and sent them to their lord
a pitying gesture
from a heart that festered
'neath the hate of a god i abhorred
'neath the loathe of the god they adored
(even the blood that stained my hands
couldn't fertilize my Garden's ground
so i take their bodies to the only place
that i knew they'd not be found)
i buried them in my Garden
face down in the sand
of my secret place, that they burnt to waste
my Scorched Earth Promised Land
