Are You Ready for Heaven?

Contributed by wachumiri on Monday, 11th August 2003 @ 06:35:00 AM in AEST
Topic: ChristianPoetry

Once in time long gone
A Son was born to Mary
For God had sent His Son
Our burdens for to carry

Once in time long gone
Some wise men came to see Him
Following a Heavenly star
They reached Bethlehem

Once in time long gone
The Son grew up and taught
What is right and wrong
And how God’s to be sought

Once in time long gone
The people went and killed Him
But He rose- defied the grave!
And then went up to Heaven

Some day in time to come
God’s Son will come again
The wicked men God will condemn
Are YOU ready for Heaven?

You have grown, poet.

Your writing has definitely matured. But then, you were, what? 18? 17? when you wrote this? So, I guess that's natural, but still, this is a nice little poem, but it doesn't seem to have that...zing that your most recent poems have.

Anyway, it was nice to read something a little different. Nice write.

*hugs tight*

For some odd reason I decided to read my first poem I ever posted on this site. It is actually one of the first poems I had ever written and saved. There were a few when I was very young but I probably threw them out. Anyway, I read the comments on my first posted poem and one of them was yours. It was very nice and...very encouraging. That was nearly four years ago. I would like to thank you once again. Over the years I had forgotten that comment but now I think I'll remember it without forgetting.

Then I thought I should go and read your first posted here and I am glad I decided to do that. I really like this. In answer to the question though, I am not sure. I however, must admit that this was inspiring.

Take care,

Tim
