Dusk, slipping into the valley
bringing unto me the night.
Soon the darkness will hug me
with it comes the light of the firefly.
Lying in the cool grass
listening to the frogs drone
everywhere I look I see the lights
blinking on and off shining up the night.
Daytime bustle has long hushed
a chorus is sung between the crickets
and the cadydids hiding in forrage so lush.
I watched her out amoung them
chasing little lights in the air
running, running, free spirited
laughing without a care.
Late into the night we spent
with nature and her lovely sentiments
a couple beers cracked open
time had no bounds, borrowed or lent.
