PUSHING ME OVER THE EDGE

Contributed by aTWISTEDandTAINTEDmi on Friday, 12th July 2002 @ 01:42:27 PM in AEST
Topic: Suicide

Dress me up dress me up
In too much damn make up
Bright reds and bright blues
Dress me up dress me up
Make my face white as a china doll
With lips the bright red of blood
And eyelids the bright blue that screams twilight skies

Dress me up dress me up
As a prep or a punk
As anything you want
Dress me up dress me up
In the stripes and plaid that plague my eyes
And tube socks with shorts and snappy bracelets galore
No skirts though, I might puke

Make me up make me up
Too much ***** make up
Barely out of bed, and curlers plaguing my head
Make me up make me up
Make me perfect as can be
Dressed to fit the standards of the fancy restaurants that you attend
And to look like a queen when I am only the subject of your torment

Make me up make me up
Like the little ***** you love
But is too good to date you
Make me up make me up
Make me look like a crack whore
A ten-cent thrill ride
That you can ride whenever you like

Look me up look me up
Because I won’t be at your beckoning call any longer
So, you’ll just have to look harder for my love
Look me up look me up
No telephone book will help you here,
You finally drove me over the edge
And I can’t torment you in the flesh any more, but you’ll be tortured by my memory

Look me up look me up
If you ever make it to heaven, I’m here
Waiting for the apology that you owe me, my dear
Look me up look me up
Up and down
Merry go round
You deserve the guilt you’ve earned, driving me over the edge like this.

You are trully an inspiration.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
