dark clouds surround me
thunder crackles in the distance
lightning brilliantly flashes
the rain tumbles down
pounding hard against the window
making the presence of the storm known
a rainbow appears close by
beautiful and serene
as the threatening weather lifts
and the sun struggles free from the clouds

Wow that is a good poem! I've been through storms just like that. Here in Wyoming the come up and you think you're going to be blown away with hail and lightning, and thunder, and in fives minute it's gone away. I admire the lenght of your poem it's short and yet so "Telling!"
Really enjoyed that!
