I wish I could feel nothing
I wish there wasn't always
This stinging sensation of failure
I wish it didn't hurt to breathe
I wish I couldn't see these tears in my reflection
Delay the screams,
Prolong the pain
Stuff a cloth in my mouth
So I won't disturb you with my screams
And to stop me from chewing up my tongue
I've limped so far and I hate to
Acknowledge, my fortitude is giving away
Delay the screams,
Prolong the unbearable agony
Its hard to beat back these tears
As thoughts of self-destruction take over
And weave their devastating patterns
Through my marred, aching head
Nothing is worth feeling this way
Delay the screams,
And watch as I fade away
