My mind aches for purpose; my heart bleeds
for love.
How much to be true?
So many, too many compliment; little lies to
smooth the edges.
Pretty-sparks a hint of happiness so
shortlived.
How much for joy?
So say it again and fill the gnawing void.
Beautiful-turning,twisting,burning my Mind.
White fire that deadens as it consumes.
Numbly watching, slowly I'm fading away.
Can an illusion bring satisfaction?
PERFECTION
Always the unattainable.
Don't ask and I won't tell.
How much to be true?
Say it again and I will believe.
But then, I'm not the one who learned
from my mistake.

Great Poem. I like the way your ask yourself the questions: "How much to be true", " How much for joy:, " How much to be true". You answer them in a beautiful way! Tell me some more. I like your poetry.

Well written Poem Becca.......Searching for all us, we each have a void somewhere. You said it nicely, and I think this is a very good poem.
