PARENTS

Contributed by robert_edgar_burns on Thursday, 7th August 2003 @ 03:45:00 AM in AEST
Topic: FamilyPoems

I looked up through the breaking clouds
And saw the brightest star.
I suddenly was wondering,
Is that where your spirits are?
It simply would be fitting,
That you would brightly shine.
For even here amongst us,
Your love shone all the time.
I really can’t remember,
When you two were apart.
You were each others better half,
And controlled each others heart.
I never heard you argue.
You never raised your voice.
I usually obeyed you,
For I knew I had no choice.
You never were strangers
To exhausting hard work.
You’d polish the silver
Or dig down in the dirt.
You did what it took
To keep us together.
Your strength was the glue,
And your love was the tether.
You openly cherished
Each others affection.
That you belonged to each other
Was an easy detection.
More precious than riches
Ever found in this world,
Was the example of love
In that boy and that girl.

Simply breath taking. A poem dedicated to the love and affection that falls between two people, two people that showed you how to love and what it was like to be loved. If only every love could be like this.

Simply amazing. -Amy
