THE LONELY

MY HEART BREAKS FOR THE LONELY PEOPLE WHO ARE LEFT ON THEIR OWN,
FOR THEIR LOVED ONES HAVED PASSED ON AND LEFT THEM ALL ALONE.
THEY WERE ONCE VIDAL PEOPLE IN THEIR YOUNGER DAYS,
WHEN PEOPLE REALLY LISTENED TO WHAT THEY HAD TO SAY.
BUT YEARS TAKE THEIR TOLL ON THE BODY AND THE MIND,
TAKING THEIR LOVED ONES FROM THEM, LONG BEFORE THEIR TIME.
THEY'RE LEFT TO FACE LIVES JOURNEY ALL BY THEMSELVES,
OFTEN TO BE COOPED UP INSIDE THEIR LITTLE HOUSE.
WHERE THE DAYS SEEM UNENDING, AND THE NIGHT IS NOT THEIR FRIEND, STEARING AT THE CELING, WAITING FOR THE END.
THEIR CHILDREN HAVE MOVED AWAY, AND FRIENDS SELDOM CALL,
GETTING THROUGH EACH DAY BECOMES A TASK THAT SEEMS QUITE TALL.
THEY HAVE SO MUCH TO OFFER, IF ONLY SOMEONE WOULD TAKE THE TIME,
TO WORRY ABOUT THE LONELY, AND NOT TO PRETEND THAT THEIR JUST FINE.
TIME HAS AWAY OF HOLDING US RESPONSIBLE FOR THE MISTAKES WE OFTEN MAKE,
THOSES WHO DON’T TAKE THIS POEM SERIOUSLY, COULD SOMEDAY BE LEFT WITH THIS FATE.

So true, unfortunatly it happens all the time.
