You Mean Goodbye

Contributed by juliette on Wednesday, 6th August 2003 @ 04:45:00 AM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

It is funny the things you learn
Only after you have crashed and burned
All the memories that fade with age
So many dreams that seem to float away.
When you pick yourself up off the floor
When you can’t stand the pain anymore
When love is so far out of reach, you can’t even cry
That’s when you really mean goodbye.

After you have had enough space to sort things out
And you realize you were always living without
The ties that bind, the comfort of conviction
Standing to the side watching his addiction
Sweep him farther out to sea than you can swim
And it hits you, you could never have saved him
When you have tried everything you know to try
That’s when you really mean goodbye.
