Origin of the elders

The ground of the forest hid something under
A huge heart that had the sound of thunder
Humans, animals, trees and spirits were scared
From that giant that straight at their souls stared
A curious fool mouse seeked daring danger
Forgetting he was to that heart a stranger
He bit in rage to discover a taste
A taste that left him behind years of waste
That creature was doomed to live in darkness
Having wings grown, becoming symbol of sadness
The mouse became a bat that was cursed forever
"Would I see the Sun again?", it cried. No..never...
