King Laurence, whether Saint is faulty knight,
far be it Sire for me to say this day.
Dispute twixt Saint and me concerning fight
at Broughten Place doth seem but common fray.
Will sea give Saint bad time, and so it may.
Admitting Mel de Mer canst be construed
as sign that knight's disloyal, I do say.
Now many noble honors he's accrued,
and Liege, it so behooves us Saint is rightly viewed.
First light of day King Laurence made his leave.
To Donville Castle Seat cortege didst go.
Duke Morley's proffered sage advice didst weave
through monarch's mind filled very high with woe.
Best wait until report from Throme would show
what be Duke Saint's support of brother James.
Is he friend, my Duke Morley, be man foe?
What seems required is seen a sheet of names.
To know with certain mind, doubts free, what knights list blames.

ramfire,
Your style reminds me so much of Shakespeare. I'm a Shakespear nut, so I would kind of know. And that line "advice didst weave through monarch's mind" I could totally get a mental picture of it. Some mental picture that's whimsical, like the mind being a weaving of our innermost thoughts. Awesome.
Great poem,
