This Gentle Rose

Contributed by Wordpoet on Tuesday, 5th August 2003 @ 10:45:00 PM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

Who can match this gentle rose, in beauty or desire,
And bring the soul that rests within unto a raging fire?
Fortunes grace if it were I, until the end of days,
To be the mighty Hercules or Cyreno from plays.
But just a man am I to her, no better than the rest,
Who failed in his journey, with love the shining quest.
Still in all I wish her well, though in the end I lose,
And envy he who captures all, the one that she will choose.

The man who fills her life with joy and heals all the pain,
Who brings the sunlight to her life and scatters all the rain,
He will be most fortunate, blessed by her embrace,
For the precious gift that is her love, no other can replace.
Her touch is heaven sent to earth, her voice an angels choir,
Her eyes can melt the coldest heart, there’s joy wrapped in her smile.
And no one else comes close to her, all others fade away,
So I hope she finds her happiness, without me in the way.

Hey, Doug it was good to see something from you again and I'm glad u decided to stay. I loved this very beautiful and heart-warming. If this was written to anyone then she must be very lucky. Keep on writing.
