Slumber Of My Love

Contributed by misterright on Monday, 4th August 2003 @ 02:25:00 AM in AEST
Topic: LoveRemembered

If you told me to leave,
My love would still stay.
I’d give it to you,
As I turned away.
It would stay by your side,
To watch over you.
For all of your days,
This love, so true.
As years passed by,
And your life carried on,
My forgotten love,
You’d be sure it was gone.
But lying in wait,
My love would remain,
In silent slumber,
Till it was needed again.
A dark lonely night.
Your emotions confused.
Upset and crying.
Your hearts been abused.
You crawl into bed.
Curl up in a ball.
No one to hold you.
No one to call.
The nights silent and cold.
This pain you can’t take.
Now that it’s needed,
My love will awake.
You close your crying eyes,
You see a faint spark.
Brightness of love,
Shines through the dark.
Your body warms,
From the inside out.
Filling you with love,
You’ve so long been without.
Hazy images and memories,
Will sing you a song.
Had all been forgotten,
Yet remained for so long.
Moments of smiles,
Endless nights filled with love,
Surrounding you now,
As if from above.
Love encompasses your heart.
Caresses your soft skin.
Happiness once lost,
Has returned once again.
My love will hold you,
Comfort you through the night.
Tender embrace from your past,
Till morns breaking light.
Your eyes now open,
To face a new day.
With no recollection,
Of why you’re feeling this way.
A smile on your face.
Warmness in your heart.
Memories again forgotten.
New beginnings to start.
My love’s back at rest,
Awaiting your call.
Lying in peaceful slumber.
Will never let you fall.
My love will stand at your side,
To see your life through.
Its presence unknown,
Invisible, but true.
