You'll never know the damage incurred --
from a lifetime of your absence.
A multitude of missed chances.
A painful remembrance of guidance lost.
A responsibility so unwelcome it begets
true innocence ,
unconditional love condemned.
The search for replacement only brought me
into the hands of evil --
an existence of psycotic repetition.
Relationships forged for purposes of survival.
Without a model to go by --
an example of behavior --
PURE .
HONEST.
REAL.
GOOD.
Unattainable.
Nothing lasts --
It all gets muddled,
my purpose,
my mind addled; confused.
All suffers.
I will always be lost --
That maze with the exit full of walls --
was created in your hands.

Simply beautiful. Watching or knowing a parent has walked out on you is one of the worst scars to bare on a soul. Mixed feelings of guilt, blame, did they or did they not love reside on our heart and soul. Leaving unanswerable questions to try and answer. Once again your are a great poet. This is simply a beautiful poem! |
