Redemption

Contributed by stylle on Saturday, 2nd August 2003 @ 10:25:00 AM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

Thrust by truth, blinded by greed
Cold waters won't wash the blood that I bleed
Taken by victims, enabler of crimes
Against innocents, against my own mind

Carried by rivers forged out of tears
The swords of the mighty who turn deaf ears
I gave of my soul, sanctity and grace
To become one with the industrial rat race

Guaranteed salvation, I turned from my thoughts
Lead myself with colors, that were grayed by their costs
Unknown to the very ones who spoke of my needs
They remained blinded, I remained grieved

And so lost a soul on the path to enlightenment
I carried the cross of personal indictment
Once felled by greater powers than me
I wondered why my life was buried in screams

The home I had run from, the home of my heart
Called from the highlands of passion and art
And so with a soul and mind free from exemption
I cast the runes, and find my Redemption.
