Infectionous Suicide

Contributed by InteruptedFate on Saturday, 2nd August 2003 @ 04:25:00 AM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

We lie down on the floor
And stare out into space.
We look for our souls,
In hopes they may erase.

We have friends in our heads,
That hate us like you do.
Like the rest of the world:
Screw them too.

We stare at TVs
With nothing but static.
We go up in our minds,
Like they are our attics.

And when we are done,
We float down once again
To the hurt in our hearts,
And subsiding of pain.

Life is game.
A game of chess.
If you don't know how to play,
It turns out a mess.

We are the people,
The kids of destruction.
We spread like germs,
Some stories of subversion.

We are an infection,
a cancerous one.
And though the battle's over,
The war has just begun.

Not everyone’s a germ, so you see
A bacteria killer I shall be
I was born to live and so I will
If you don’t like it send me the bill.

I’d guess the world needs plenty of me
From Uzbekistan to Germany
And us folks would less like to see
People of Hatred, people like thee.

I thought this poem was clever, and it really made me think. I think this stanza is the best, or at least the one that stood out to me most:
Life is game.
A game of chess.
If you don't know how to play,
It turns out a mess.

I don't really know what to say except that I liked this a lot.
