Tomorrow is a Lie

Contributed by Stalkee on Thursday, 31st July 2003 @ 08:05:00 AM in AEST
Topic: oops

It feels like everyday is the same as the one before
And something will always have to go wrong
It looks like everything in my life has turned to gray
And its become too hard to make a decision
When will this shadow pass over me?
I used to try and be wise and say, "tomorrow"

I think the happiness I have,
is starting to fade away into nothing
I'm starting to call myself a liar,
'cause I say I can handle all my problems on my own
When will this shadow pass over me?
Why try to stay wise, when "tomorrow" is a lie?

this is really good, but i am sending you oodles of smiles and happiness my friend:) hugs n' love nessa
p.s. i heard once that if you let go of yesterday and tomorrow, and live within' the moment, that you'll be freer and happier, works pretty good *wink*

Wonderful Poem! These are feelings I know all too well. It's unfortunate that you feel this way, but sometimes it helps to know that you're not the only person out there with the same feelings.

I think we've all been there. I for one used to live in yesterday and realized that was a killer, then I did the "tomorrow will be better" thing until I realized if I want it to be, I have to make it. The true impact of any situation lies in our response to the situation. I felt this way when my friend was killed and after a while I figured out a system that works for me. I think of what I would need to do today to get what I might want in 50 tomorrows. Then I simply decide that's the way it's going to be and if a few things are a little off I just say ok, and keep rolling with it. Tomorrow is the thing you can never positively control, but today is infinitely changeable. Make your todays better (even if at first it takes some hard work) and the better tomorrows will come. They can't be the way you want them to be though if you don't go for them. My old Asian studies teacher used to tell me that for every person there are five tomorrows, and the one you get is the one you work for, whether you try or not. So I work for the tomorrows I want and nine times out of ten, I get them. Keep the faith and believe in yourself, work past it and it will be all good I promise.
